Today I would like to introduce you a remarkable author who’s every product is a work of art. Victoria Rudenko creates amazing jewelry in the lacquer miniature technique. This is the oldest art that dates back to ancient times.
The most famous representatives of this folk handicraft are the Russian masters such as Palekh, Khokhloma and Fedoskino which to this day are engaged in painting boxes and powder-boxes. Victoria applied this technology to make jewelry and transferred production from factory facilities to a small home workshop where luxurious bracelets, pendants, earrings and brooches with a miniature painting come into this world.
Victoria Rudenko began to engage in lacquer miniature in 2014 when her life changed due to the relocation to Georgia, where she lives and works. Before achieving the results the author spent more than one year on experiments, attempts and mistakes. But now we can enjoy a very even and smooth surface of the bracelets and other jewelry. Every layer of paint is covered with several layers of lacquer that creates an amazing effect of volume. And after the end of the painting the future jewelry is waiting for the exhausting process of varnishing and manual polishing after which you can see your reflection on the bracelet.
Every work is unique and made in a single copy:
Recently, Victoria started to make accessories for her jewelry herself. Clearly, it’s great when jewelry is done by master’s hands from the beginning to the end. Now Victoria works with brass and silver and successfully combines metal, wood and natural stones.
Sometimes is possible to find Victoria’s miniature painting on agates. But the author still prefers wood for its lightness and warmth. Natural motives are present not only in Victoria’s jewelry but in her miniatures also.
One of her hobbies is painting on wood:
Such “Portals to other worlds” often appear among her works. Theirs size is 12×12 cm.
